we’re so sorry for the silence lately! life outside of fy!iw has been terribly (and unusually) busy as of late, but it comes with the season. updates may be erratic over the next 2 weeks, but we’ll do our best to at least be active on Twitter, where all the latest news come through!
do keep supporting Ilwoo and fy!iw though, and we’ll hopefully be back running as scheduled really soon.

According to our friends at JIWCom, Ilwoo will attend the 18th Shanghai Drama Festival on 15th June (Fri). The award ceremony is from 7.35pm to 9.15pm (GMT+8). He will most likely be presenting an award, but this information is not confirmed :) We’ll do our best up update when we have the latest!

JUNG IL WOO WINS AWARD FOR BEING AWESOME (without trying)
(via Twitter and this article, and this article; photos credited as tagged)Read about this a few days ago, but was uncertain about some details and whether Il-woo would make an appearance, given an apparently long shoot immediately preceding for his upcoming Domino’s Pizza advertisements.
Il-woo was recognized along with the other pictured recipients, in the “2nd Share Blessed Happy Life” awards doled out by South Korea’s Ministry of Health & Welfare.
The reason seems to be his charitable acts towards the international Korean organization Milal Mission made when he was in New York, which he did in the most low-key way possible and apparently without any thought of public praise.
It is because of those circumstances that I was confused about this award - did the Ministry read about it and consider him worthy of recognition? Did Il-woo’s agency put him in the running for it? Has Il-woo continued to do work on their behalf in Korea? From the articles in the press at the time, it seemed as though Il-woo had been unaware of Milal until he’d heard American Idol contestant Heejun Han talk about working there.
On a much shallower note, Il-woo looks like he fell right off the top of a wedding cake! If you’d told me he was accepting an award for being “The Guy Korean Parents Would Love To See Their Daughter Dating”, I wouldn’t be surprised at all!
