Actor Jung Il Woo recently chose IU as his ideal woman.
The May 23 episode of SBS’s Midnight TV Entertainment interviewed Jung and asked about his ideal woman.
Jung said, “I like a pure person and who doesn’t have double eyelids. Actually, I don’t care much about appearance. Since I’m an entertainer, I like a person who is generous and whom I have a lot in common with.”
Then he chose IU as his ideal woman among SNSD’s Yoona and Yuri, After School’s UEE, and f(x)’s Krystal and Sulli. Even though a reporter kept showing him other pictures of girl group members, he didn’t change his mind.
Jung said, “I really enjoyed listening IU’s songs while I was shooting the series 49 Days.” He also agreed that IU looks pure and innocent.
He looked very shy when he sent her a video message, saying, “IU, I’m enjoying your music and I’m rooting very hard for you. Please continue to do well.”
Actor Jung Il Woo’s interview was featured on the May 23rd episode of SBS ‘One Night of TV Entertainment’.
About his ideal type he described, “I like a clear person. I like a person without double eyelid. Honestly, what’s on the outside does not last long. Because I work as an entertainer, I like a person who is understanding and someone who has a lot in common with me.”
Jung Il Woo also participated in the ‘Ideal Type World Cup’ and IU came out on top beating idols such as T-ara’s Jiyeon, Girls’ Generation’s Yuri, f(x)’s Krystal & Sully, and After School’s Uee.
Jung Il Woo looked shy and he explained why he chose IU, “I felt a connection to the lyrics of her song when I was filming the drama ’49 Days’.
Finally, Jung Il Woo sent a video message to IU with a shy smile on his face, “IU, I’m enjoying your music and I’m rooting very hard for you. Please continue to do well.”
I think someone just tweeted that Jung Il Woo is in the July (Vol. 83) issue of Japanese magazine Kboom which hits newsstands there Monday the 21st (or today if you’re not on my side of the Int’l Date Line). Details to follow!
ETA: According to the magazine’s website http://gam-mag.jp/ it’s a “Special Interview” about Flower Boy Ramyun Shop*.
An interview Jung Il Woo did during his recent trip in Japan to promote Japan/Korea relations & the DVD release of Flower Boy Ramyun Shop has been translated into English by Snowy and posted on the Jung Il Woo China Fansworld site. It includes scans of both the original article and the pictures in the magazine by Ilwoostory Japan. Thanks to all involved for making the contents understood to a wider audience!
The interview does cover some of the same questions asked in the other Japanese interviews, but Il-woo did expand a little bit on his new interest in drawing that he cultivated when visiting galleries and museums in New York. While we knew that he’d contributed much to the clothing styles and set dressing for Cha Chi-soo, I was also surprised to learn that he’d really discussed the fashion down to the last detail with the stylist and that he’d successfully lobbied to have Chi-soo drive a convertible. What better car for a narcissist than a convertible with the top down? :)
I was also thrilled (and amused) when he said that so far, all his characters were lovable and thus resembled himself, but that he’d like to try a serious character with a dark side. My wish for his next project is kind of in-between - I think he’d make a great loveable rogue character, like a spy or a con man. I do think he could also do a good amoral villain or psychopath, but until he is better at separating himself from a role while filming - except for Prince Yang Myung, he seemed to need some time to “shake off” each previous character - I wouldn’t want such a part to affect him adversely in real life.
thanks for the summary! great to see the different interest sites working hand in hand to help fellow international Ilwoo fans feel closer to him :)
(side note: we found the magazine at a bookstore the other day, but it’s way too expensive to buy >.< since it’s considered an international import! oh, though how our heart skipped when we saw Ilwoo’s name in Japanese, finally gracing a J-magazine we picked up!)
