The star from MBC “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” Jung Il Woo has recently changed agencies. Recently he signed with Soop Management (Literal translation Forest Management) which also has Jeon Do Yeon, Gong Yoo, Ryu Seung Beom, and Gong Hyo Jin.

Other than “The Moon that Embraces the Sun’ Jung Il Woo has gained popular through the dramas “49 Days” and “Flower Boy Ramyun Shop.” Recently he was the representative of Korean actors to be a part of the “Korea-Japan Friendship Festival.”

Jung Il Woo said about his move to the new agency, “The reason I was able to choose the agency ‘Soop Management’ is because of my faith and trust for the CEO. I couldn’t think of other companies. I will try my best to improve as an actor.”

The CEO of Soop Management stated, “Jung Il Woo is an actor that has two sides. He has star power and also acting that does not confine him into specific roles. He has more sides of him and potential that we have not seen yet, and we will try to support him so that he grows as an actor, through good projects.” 

[edit] it seems that Soop could be a subsidiary of Fantagio, because most of the artistes on Soop’s roster, like Gong Hyo Jin and Gong Yoo, and now Ilwoo, were previously from Fantagio. there was an article we found about GHJ being the first artiste to make the transfer to the new agency, but we’ve yet to fully translate that. Actor Jung Il Woo, who recently concluded his role in MBC‘s hit drama, ‘The Moon That Embraces the Sun‘, has revealed that he is now label mates with the likes of Jun Do Yeon, Gong Yoo, and Gong Hyo Jin.

On May 4th, his new management agency, Forest Entertainment, confirmed, “We have signed with Jung Il Woo.”

Jung Il Woo stated, “The reason I contracted with Forest as my new agency was because I trusted the company and the CEO. I’m going to work to improve myself as an actor in the future.”

CEO Kim Jang Kyun expressed, “Jung Il Woo has a lot of potential in that he’s able to weave in and out of genres and roles unlike other actors his age. We hope to uncover his hidden potential by helping him grow as an actor through great future projects.”

personally I think his Fantagio management have impressively handled JIW well because of the fan service that they extended to fans. anyways,definitely  this explains why his facebook account linked to Fantagio went unplublished even before JIW went to Japan. :)

this was definitely a while coming, since the fan letter address was published a few months ago. we were just wondering when it was official! Fantagio has not published news about him for a while now, and his picture is no longer on the official website.

(we hope Soop is more open about accepting fan presents than Fantagio was! we almost couldn’t get our gift to the agency last year :( sigh.)
